Rupaul- "Free to be" Reflection...

Rupaul Charles...or Momma Ru as many of her fans refer to her as has been around for as long as I've been alive. For those unaware, Rupaul is an American Drag Queen and currently is the host for the Emmy Winning Show, Rupaul's Drag Race!

​The video below is one of my favorites to just listen to and celebrate the progress the Queer community has made throughout my own life. The message is accesible, loving, but also inclusive of Queer imagery from our siblings who perform drag or are non-conforming. Pay particular attention to the individuals included, the racial, sexual, gender, class, and body diversity reflected is something to admire. Lastly, the image of Rupaul holding the baby is worthy of interrogation considering how Queer people were often painted as pedophiles as a way of building hate against us. There is care filled sensitivity in my opinion at how that image was included at the end of the video. At the end of the day- this video is hella gay and I live for it. :) Enjoy!
